Comparison of some aggregation techniques using group analytic hierarchy process

چکیده
Group decision making is an important part of multiple criteria decision making and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The aim of this paper was to compare group AHP methods. Seven simple group AHP aggregation techniques that could be attractive for applications selected from the vast array of group AHP models proposed in the literature were selected for evaluation. We developed three new measures of evaluation: group Euclidean distance, group minimum violations, and distance between weights for the purpose of evaluation. The results of seven group AHP methods of the theoretical example were evaluated by three new evaluation measures, satisfactory index and fitting performance index. Furthermore, a case study of a decision making problem from the construction engineering field was performed and nine group AHP aggregation techniques, seven of them formerly presented and two new two stage group approaches were applied. Finally, the case study was evaluated using all five measures for each of the nine group decision making methods. The results showed that not all group AHP methods are equally convenient and that the selection of the method depended on the specific application. 2014 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

A Comparison of the REMBRANDT System with a New Approach in AHP
Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been criticized considerably for possible rank reversal phenomenon caused by the addition or deletion of an alternative. While in many cases this is a perfectly valid phenomenon, there are also many cases where ranks should be preserved. Our findings indicate that using the geometric mean reduces the variance in ratings substantially; hence, yielding lower i...
متن کاملUsing Principal Components Analysis for Aggregating Judgments in the Analytic Hierarchy Process
Often it is appropriate to have more than one decision maker perform the pairwise comparisons that are part of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). With group judgments one would hope for broad consensus among the decision makers, in which case one would aggregate judgments via their geometric mean. However, consensus may not always be reached and significant dispersion may exist among the jud...

This paper proposes a method for ranking decision making units (DMUs) using some of the multiple criteria decision making / multiple attribute decision making (MCDM /MADM) techniques, namely, interval analytic hierarchy process (IAHP) and the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS). Since the efficiency score of unity is assigned to ...
متن کاملDouble-Frontier Analysis Approach for Weight Derivation in Analytical Hierarchy Process
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) combined with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) provides Data Envelopment Analytic Hierarchy Process (DEAHP) methodology for weight derivation and aggregation. A double-frontier analysis approach is proposed in this article to derive priorities in AHP. The proposed method combines DEA variable weight with AHP from both optimistic and pessimistic views to obtain th...
